Clue: Before and After

"Pat, I'd like to solve the puzzle: DOUBLE TAKE TWO!" [audience applauses]

(Hehe... since I got such a kick out of sharing that first picture of my grandmother, I thought I'd post one more to show you just how much I look like she did at my age!)  Here's another from 1962. That cute little thing she's holding is my aunt. Mohawks were in style back then:

Spring Break at the Beach

I've been meaning to post this picture for a couple weeks now, but with life getting in the way... I've been a bit preoccupied. Since I've started sewing, I took my grandmother up on her offer to come stay with her (by the beach) overnight so that she could teach me a few of her sewing tricks.  That's where I learned to how to sew pillowcases (with French seams -- ooh la la!) as well as receiving blankets.  Both she and my cousins live on the same street -- just two blocks off of the beach in southern Delaware.  Fortunately, while I was there visiting, the weather was HOT!  Unfortunately, I did not plan ahead for that and so I was stuck in jeans the whole time.  Wah!  I'll just have to plan another trip, and remember to pack my bathing suit!

PS: In case you're wondering, this photo is from 1962 -- it's my grandmother and my dad.  See any family resemblance?

Hershey Park

I keep finding new bruises all over me! Bruise on my thigh -- thank you Lightning Racer's lap bar.  Bruises under my arms -- thank you Storm Runner's arm rests!  Nonetheless, yesterday was totally awesome.  B and I met up with my sister-in-law and her friends to celebrate her April birthday.  If you haven't been (either recently or ever) you should definitely go!  My favorite ride?  The Bear.  My favorite park snack?  The S'mores!

Oh, Brother!

I've been busy sewing since last you heard from me. I've made pot holders, receiving blankets, and pillow cases. And I'm dying to do more!

You all know that I already have a sewing machine, but mine is old. And I mean that. It is O-L-D. And I had already put a lot of money into restoring it to functionality, only to have another thing go wrong. I wasn't about to spend another penny on it, so with B's encouragement, I found a new machine to call my own: the Brother CS600i. The funny thing is that both S and I bought the same sewing machine -- without even knowing it! We just discovered this silliness today at work while gabbing.  I mean "working." Isn't she a beauty?!

Quilt Top & Bottom

Listen in, it's hilarious!

I found this on Pioneer Woman's site. Her son is asking for some juice...

It's finally here!

Quite frankly, it's a bit surreal. I have so many things in my mind... so many possibilities, and yet I don't even know what to do with myself or where to begin! Maybe I'll just enjoy the fact that I have endless possibilities.
