That voice canNOT belong to that man!

Seriously. I've been wondering what the DJ's look like on the station I listen to on my way to work. So I finally remembered to google them. Seriously? The lead DJ has this kind of whiny voice so I imagined a kind of goofy, chubby, blond guy. I don't know why he had to be blond. Anyway, it turns out he looks like he might as well be from that show "Major Dad." WTF?! Check out his photo here:

We finally had some sunshine so I ran outside to take a walk around our neighborhood. I love all the spring colors :)

So last night, in the spirit of good-luck and Irishness and all, I decided to cook corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Yum, right? The thing is, the meat came out questionably. I mean it looked and smelled great, but I wasn't 100% sure that it was cooked all the way. With corned beef, how can you really tell anyway? It's always pink!

I stopped on the way home today and bought a meat thermometer. Don't worry, it's safe to eat at my house (now).

"Aww, look at the wittle baby plants"

That's how the cashier spoke to my plants as she bagged them up for me. They are cute, I can't deny that... but baby-talk? That's a bit much.

Here's my terrarium and Liz's (below):

...I should mention that I made these curtains! I went to my mom's house (because she has a sewing machine) and spent the day with mom and grandma working on them. Aren't you proud of me?

Luxurious (yay!)

If 50 years equals "historic" and 25 years equals "antique," then how many years equals "retro"?

So, Fiona Apple's "Criminal"--one of my all-time favorite songs from high school--was playing on 106.5 this afternoon. I was all excited until it ended and some caller won a prize for being able to "name that retro replay." What?! I guess I can expect to hear it on some oldies station any day now...

Artsy... or just Fartsy?

So my friend Liz is coming over today and we're going to try our hands at some flower thing my mom saw on HGTV. She told us about it while at the thrift store, so we got all excited and bought the vases we needed on half-price-day (gotta love that). The idea is to pot a flower down inside a glass vase so that you can see it through the vase. Hmm... (I'll take pictures)

Spring Awakening!

Our countertops and new sink have all finally been installed! Of course, nothing goes smoothly, so technically we're still waiting to have the bar-top adjusted. But... for the pictures' sakes, that doesn't matter. It looks good, and I finally have before and after photos to share!

Trying my hand at something new...

In starting this blog, I'm totally copying off of a friend of mine. Thanks for the inspiration MC :)
