Fresh summer goodies + a long distance convo with my hubby = a night well spent.

Fab Friday
Today was truly a great day -- thanks to all the ladies I got to hang out with!
First, I got to have fun on a field trip with my summer-school buddy, Melanie. Thank goodness for her company... she always has lots of fun 'adult' topics to keep us entertained while our little lovelies are doing their thing.
After work and headed down south to meet up with S and L for a sewing date. We finally got to work on our Gathered Clutch Purses, but they turned out to be a bit more complicated than we had anticipated. There are a couple things that I would probably do differently if I were to make another purse, but I'd say my first one turned out cute! Here's my clutch, which I'm going to use to carry the "extra" stuff in my purse.

Who knew ducks could be cute?!
Well, at my sister's urging, I submitted my duck video to www.cuteoverload.com. Keep your eyes peeled to see if they choose to post my video on their site! In the meantime, I got inspired to look for other duck videos on youtube (you know, to check out the competition). Many of them were either lame or blurry, but not this one! Check it out:

Bon Jovi!
After a grueling, five-hour car ride up to NYC (almost), B and I arrived just on the other side of the river from the Big Apple at the New Meadowlands Stadium in NJ, ready for our 2nd Bon Jovi concert together. I had sworn to B that I would never go to another Bon Jovi concert because my first experience in DC had been such a let-down. But you know how love goes, so there we were, together, ready for the show. I wasn't really loving it that much as it got started. It was a good show, but I just wasn't really into it. That was until Kid Rock came on stage to help sing a cover of "Old Time Rock n' Roll." He had a good effect on Jon Bon Jovi and (in my opinion) helped him to relax so that he could be more natural on stage. Prior to this song, I felt like Jon was doing nothing but making love to the camera. I know a lot of the ladies were into that sort of thing, but I mean... winking into the big-screen? Eew! Like I said, thank goodness he loosened up afterwards. I loved the rest of the show!

Sneak Peak
Just a little glimpse of what I've been working on lately. Neither one of these projects are finished, so I have to keep them hush, hush!

Love, Love, Love It!
Gustav Klimt is one of my favorite artists, and the funny thing is that I already have all three of these prints. It's just that they've been separated for my purchasing pleasure. Because of this, two are in my bedroom, while the third is in my entryway. I had no idea until today, that they were originally all one frieze! I actually like them better all together because they seem to tell a story of love: the desire and fulfillment of it. Maybe one day I'll get them re-framed and re-matted to work together as one unit (now that I know!)
